Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies (B.A.)

Southern Evangelical Bible College is a division of Southern Evangelical Seminary and offers the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) with a major in Religious Studies. This is a four year accredited academic program for persons interested in completing an undergraduate degree that will increase their knowledge and effectiveness by developing a more complete biblical and theological understanding. Two years (60 hrs.) worth of courses are taken at Southern Evangelical Bible College, and two years (60 hrs.) of general education are taken elsewhere.* General education must include three semester hours each within the following four categories as defined by the institution**:

[1] Humanities / Fine Arts (3hrs.)
[2] Behavioral / Social Science (3hrs.)
[3] Natural Science / Mathematics (3hrs.)
[4] Communications (3hrs.)

*These general education courses may be taken before, during, or after the Bible College courses.
**If an accredited institution has awarded the student an Associates Degree these requirements are taken to have been met.

Diploma in Religious Studies
Those not meeting the academic qualifications for the Bachelor of Arts degree may complete the two years (60 hrs.) of courses offered through Southern Evangelical Bible College first and be granted the Diploma in Religious Studies (D.R.S.). This can convert to the B.A. once the additional 60 hours are completed.

Both the degree and the diploma programs provide training for persons committed to various ministries, such as apologetics, evangelism, missions, Christian education, etc. The degree or diploma is offered both as a resident and non-resident (distance) program. Upon completion of these programs the student should have demonstrated knowledge in Old Testament, New Testament, Systematic Theology, Philosophy, and Christian Apologetics.

Why has Southern Evangelical been the choide of so many young people? Because they want to reach this post-modern world for Christ, and SES teaches both the unchanging truth and how to relate it to these changing times.

The B.A. in Religious Studies degree (or diploma) is a two year program that must be completed within six (6) years from the date of first enrollment. The non-resident (distance) B.A. degree (or diploma) program must be completed within eight (8) years from beginning the first course.

Why Choose SEBC?

Why has Southern Evangelical been the choice of so many young people?

Because they want to reach this post-modern world for Christ, and SES teaches both the unchanging truth and how to relate it to these changing times.

Charlotte area residents can save on expensive room and board by staying locally while earning a degree. The low tuition of the SES Undergraduate Program is made even more affordable because it is a pay-as-you-go program.

Interaction with seminary graduate students and training with high caliber professors gives students a solid and rigorous education under some of the best defenders of Christianity today.

Classical conservative doctrine is core to SEBC. While bringing high academic standards to the Christian students, Southern Evangelical has not sacrificed the historic Christian faith. We maintain a comittment to biblical inerrancy and a literal historical interpretation of God's Word.

Foundation Christian classes can be combined with your choice of study in the associate level studies outside of SEBC. You can be dual enrolled in SEBC and another college of your choice to combine the theological training of SEBC and vocational training from a community, private, or state college.
