LOGOS Software Minimize

ALL UNDERGRADUATE (SEBC) STUDENTS!!!

The basic "Bible Study" software package (pictured above) will be required for some of my upcoming classes. I have negotiated a 50% discount for SES Undergraduate (Bible College) students on LOGOS Bible Study Software! This offer is only available online at a special webpage: HERE.

You may wish to purchase a larger initial package or additional books. All the packages are good for the money, but you don't want to just hope you will like the books they've picked! One way to consider the 1,00's og available books is to think about the types of books (commentaries / theologies / languages / etc.) that you would use, and see how many of each category come in which packages. Or look for specific titles you would buy anyway, search for those individually, and then see if they come in any of the packages (sometimes one resource costs more by itself than upgrading to a higher package that includes it and hundreds of other titles!). For help considering which additional resources or higher level packages you might wish to own, see the following links:

INDEPENDENT STUDIES COURSES Minimize

SES's new course delivery system syncs the Distance Education courses with the Resident schedule. This has removed several available courses from being offered regularly, but they may be taken as Independent Studies. (For enrollment information contact the REGISTRAR).

The courses I offer include the following:

  • AP510 - Cultural Apologetics (Understanding Pop Culture Media)
A course covering media-specific, pop-cultural interaction (e.g., movies, music, and other media arts that have serious impact, or provide important commentary, upon American culture at large). By the end of this course the student will be able to critically evaluate movies, music, and other influential pop-culture media forms.

  • NT403 - The Book of Revelation (A Multi-View Survey)
This course covers a survey of the New Testament Book of Revelation, its Historical, Biblical, and Literary Background, the Major Views and Doctrinal Issues surrounding the book, Hermeneutical Considerations involved in its interpretation, and the book’s Structure, Characters, and Events. By the end of this course the student is expected to be able to give a detailed explanation of: the contents of the Book of Revelation,  the major interpretive views of the Book of Revelation, and  the arguments for and against the above major interpretive views.

  • ST306 - Discerning The Will of God (The Biblical vs. The Popular View)
A survey and critical evaluation of some popular models of discovering God’s will for one’s life with special emphasis on the debate between special leading and wisdom views.By the end of this course the student is expected to be able to critically evaluate contemporary models of discovering God’s Will, as well as to defend their own view in accordance with biblical teaching.
