Mission Statement
The mission of Southern Evangelical Seminary is to train men and women, based on the inerrant and infallible written Word of God, for the evangelization of the world and defense of the historic Christian Faith.
About SES
SES is a fully accredited Christian college and seminary offering a wide variety of degrees including Bachelors, Masters, Master of Divinity, Doctorate of Ministry, and Ph.D.s. Programs can be completed through residence in the Charlotte, NC area or via distance education. The education at SES is distinctively Christian, evangelisticly motivated, and world engaging.
Christians often fail to meet the challenges from the overwhelming tide of secularism or neglect to develop their God given intellect. The results can be deadly: many college age students turn their backs on Christianity; believers have an ineffective witness; the church has failed to transform the culture. Unfortunately, Faith has often been divorced from Reason.
Reason for Faith. Today it is not enought to know what you belive. You must also know why you believe. At Southern Evangelical Seminary SES) and Bible College (SEBC), students are equipped with solid answers in a world denying the very concept of truth. Rooted in the inerrant Scriptures and classical theology, SES offers a unique and rigorous education.
Reason for Life. Be trained as a pastor, church leader, teacher, missionary, scholar, or professional. SES has fully accredited resident and distance education programs that integrate classical theology, philosophy, and apologetics fora comprehensive and coherent worldview. Bachelors, masters, and doctorate programs in many fields of study.
Reason to Change the World. Because knowledge without action is dead, SES puts your studies to practice in real life locally and around the globe. Reason for Faith. Reason for Life. Reason to Change the World. We believe Southern Evangelical will help equip you with reasons for your faith and reasons to pursue being a disciple who lives for Christ and impacts the church and world. Primarily, however it is our job to help point to The Reason for faith, life, and ministry - Jesus Christ who is fully God and fully man. Jesus is The Logos (The Reason), The Word become flesh in order to save us from our sins. Jesus' example becomes an imperative (a command) to us: "You, Go 
and do likewise: Use Reason in Your Faith. Pursue wisdom as if your life depended on it, for it does. And as Peter and Paul did: Cast down strongholds of error and give a reason for the hope that lies within you. Reason to Change the World."
Central to the mission of SES is the provision of a biblical basis and an academic understanding of our personal comittment to Christ. This education will enable the graduate to fulfill his or her personal and professional goals as a Christian leader and as an active citizen in today's society. SES provides an educational opportunity where the biblical worldview is both a framework for thinking and a dynamic for living.
Key Emphasis
Conservative Doctrine - SES believes that the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments of Scripture alone to be verbally (in the words) inspired by God and inerrant in the original text and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life.
Evangelistic Emphasis - SES holds that it is the responsibility and priviledge of all who are saved to seek to win others to Christ, to the "uttermost part of the earth."
Apologetics Focus - Apologetics is not just important; it is critical to Christian evangelism in this age of relativism and skepticism.
Church Oriented - SES recognizes that the Church must become the frontline in the battle for the mind. SES is sharpening tools the Lord will use in His defense.
Realist Philosophy - Philosopy is the love of wisdom and the Bible exhorts us to love wisdom (Prov.). SES has a strong and growing philosophy department. However, unlike many other institutions, we do not compromise the gospel or the classical theology of Christianity. A realist approach to philosophy, in line with some of the best thinkers throughout history, makes SES's approach uniquely compatible with traditional Christian doctrine.

Beyond Academics - SES is not only an academically focused institution. Knowledge from the classroom is also put into practice. TEAM, the missions department of SES, provides students and alumni with speaking opprotunities to serve churches, youth groups, schools, and individuals. Local and national venues about and international trips are the highlight of the TEAM program. SES is also at the forefront of a movement know as Ratio Christi, which is planting apologetics clubs in universites around the nation. SES hosts many events such as the fall National Conference on Christian Apologetics, the annual Veritas Lectures, and other conferences and students have an opportunity to interact with noted Christian leaders.
The Student Services Department and the Deans of Students work to provide a well-rounded experience for the students and their families with programs such as the Women's Ministry Certificate and student social events.
